You will want to write an article for the product you choose, so know what you're talking about. It is a good idea to either purchase the affiliates product you're promoting or research it thoroughly.

Directories:

Directories are not the same thing as search engines. Directories have decreased in value and popularity from earlier years. However, they can still have an affect on your search page rankings and results. When you submit your site to a directory, unlike Google your site is viewed by an actual human. Directories can still send traffic to your website. Some of the free online directories you can list to are: Open Directory, Site Inclusion and Most Popular Sites.

Article Writing:

There are lots of article submission sites you can subscribe too. If you are reading this on Go Articles, you've found one of the best. Submitting articles can bring lots of traffic to your website via thousands of visitors. It is permissible to include a link at the bottom of your article that you can link to your website. If you are not a skilled writer there are many online programs you can purchase that address this particular shortcoming. You also have the option to hire someone, but that is a move that might prove expensive.

Posting To Forums:

Forums are an inexpensive method of getting your name out among other users of these venues. Look around for forums that relate to whatever it is you're promoting. Join forums of this nature and after you establish a rapport, leave your sig file. In time as others become familiar with your online personality they will be inclined to spread the word about you.
