Enter The Super Affiliate
Stratosphere

These days, unless you've been living under the proverbial rock, you have
probably heard about earning money online as an affiliate. But do you really
know what affiliate marketing really is? This fairly simple process is
successful given you take the time and effort to market a little bit.
Simply put, affiliate marketing can be defined as a way to share profits
each and every time there is a sale made of a product or service. How it
works is this: merchants who want to boost business and traffic to their
online stores pay you (as the affiliate) for sending customers to their
website. Each time your referred customers make a purchase, you get a
percentage of the sale. The easiest way to get into the affiliate marketing
business is by having your own website and putting the affiliate links on
there.
There are tons of affiliate opportunities available on the internet, so
you will have to do a little research to discover which affiliate programs
interest you. Once you determine which affiliate marketing program you want
to participate in, you sign up with the merchant, and then put the links on
your website.
Once you have been an affiliate for a while, you probably will start to
hear about this somewhat mythical being called the super affiliate. A super
affiliate is a status that any affiliate marketer can achieve. All it takes
is research, a little money and time to reach that status.
There are quite a few things you can do to boost yourself into the super
affiliate stratosphere. Here are just a few hints to give you an idea:
1. Do what you love - If your favorite hobby is beading and crafting,
look for affiliate opportunities that deal with that area like bead
suppliers, craft patterns, online hobby stores and so on. It does not make
any sense to get involved in something simply because you think it might be
profitable. By choosing what you love to do, your enthusiasm will carry you
over any hurdles.
2. Specialize in a certain aspect of your favorite hobby or affiliate
focus - Taking the beading and crafting idea, think of ways that could
narrow your focus a bit, creating a niche for yourself in whatever affiliate
marketing opportunity you choose. For instance, what if your primary hobbies
were creating wedding mementos like beaded bridal headpieces or elaborate
wedding scrapbooks? Using that idea could lead you into a number of
affiliate ideas.
3. Establish an internet presence - Part of attaining super affiliate
status consists of creating your own website. Remember your focus! Running
with the beading and crafting idea again, create a website filled with
how-to articles, supply lists for special projects and other informational
tidbits that might be useful to crafters and other hobbyists. Become the
"go-to" source for information and build relationships with your web
visitors.
4. Familiarize yourself with your affiliate products and services - How
will you maintain your affiliate credibility if you do not know anything
about the products and services you are touting through an affiliate
marketing program? The answer is that you cannot unless you have solid
knowledge of how the products or services work. Your best bet would be to
purchase the product yourself and try it out. That way you can provide
first-hand experience. Be forthright about any less desirable features but
make sure that it would still be a desirable, viable product.
5. Translate that first hand experience with your product into a great
affiliate marketing plan - After using the product or service, the another
important aspect to consider in becoming a super affiliate is writing
reviews or testimonials. People are more likely to believe in a product if
they know that someone they trusted or knew had used it too.
6. Build up a mailing list - When you set up your website and start
getting internet traffic, you must have something to keep visitors coming
back. Without repeat visitors, you are less likely to have people clicking
those affiliate links on your website. Have them sign up for a free monthly
email newsletter with helpful tips or craft project ideas. By having them
sign up, you are essentially capturing their email addresses and creating
your own opt-in emailing list for future affiliate marketing use.
7. Brush up on some strategies to market your website - This relates to
both number three and number five listed above. Think of ways to make
visitors want to bookmark your website to come to over and over again. Those
repeat visits eventually lead to clicking on your affiliate links and buying
something. Write articles or reviews that are keyword optimized for search
engines. Spend a little money on a Google Ad or pay-per-click campaign.
Participate in other web forums using your website in the signature line
whenever you post. There are a variety of ways to get visitors to your
website.
8. Accessibility is important - Create a "Contact Me" page on your
website with ways to get a hold of you, whether it is by phone, email, or
instant messaging. Knowing that you are just a call or click away eases many
minds. Build a forum or message board on your website where visitors can
share ideas and leave messages with one another. Ask for feedback. People
like giving their opinions!
There are so many internet avenues to travel in your quest for super
affiliate status. What may work for one person may not work for you and vice
versa. You will likely have a few hits and misses on your path to affiliate
marketing success. The hardest part is not giving up when you hit a dead
end. However, with a little internet know-how, practicing the steps listed
above and some perseverance, you can achieve super affiliate status and
enter the super affiliate stratosphere.
